Third, regarding vitarka and vicāra in an entirely sunken and dim mind: If a practitioner, when cultivating concentration, although their mind is dark and dim, resembling sleep, yet within this dimness they urgently seize conditions, with vitarka and vicāra not resting. This is called the mark of the manifestation of vitarka and vicāra afflictions in a sunken and dim mind.
