First, regarding the explanation of the dharma that is cultivated: this is ānāpāna, which is the method for cultivating the fundamental first dhyāna. Within this, there are three points: 1. explaining the name of breath; 2. distinguishing the marks of breath; 3. explaining the different uses of breath.
