7.9

Third, there are sentient beings whose faculties of concentration and wisdom are equal; for them, penetrating clarity is taught. As for penetrating clarity, it also possesses the fundamental dhyānas, yet its contemplative wisdom is skillful and subtle; from the lower grounds up to the higher grounds, it is able to elicit undefiledness throughout. This is an explanation according to personal capacities. If explained according to counteractive treatment, it would be opposite to this, as can be understood from the meaning in the previous five gates.
