答曰：覺名照了，意名諸心、心數，三昧名調直定。行者諸心、心數起時，反照觀察不見動轉，以是義故，名為覺意三昧。

Answer: 'Awareness' means illuminating and comprehending; 'mind' means the various cittas and caittas; 'samādhi' means attuned and straightened concentration. When a practitioner's various cittas and caittas arise, they reflectively contemplate and observe them without seeing any movement or turning. For this reason, it is called the samādhi of awareness of mind.
