七、不綺語。即是止善，止前綺側乖理之惡語行；善者，當行有義語饒益之善。

Seventh, not engaging in frivolous speech. This is the wholesome action of cessation, ceasing the evil conduct of frivolous, oblique speech that deviates from the principle mentioned above; as for the wholesome action of performance, one should practice the good of meaningful speech that brings benefit.
