四正勤：一已生惡法為除斷，一心勤精進；二未生惡法不令生，一心勤精進；三未生善法為生，一心勤精進；四已生善法為增長，一心勤精進。

The four right exertions: 1. single-mindedly and diligently striving to eliminate unwholesome dharmas that have already arisen; 2. single-mindedly and diligently striving not to let unwholesome dharmas that have not yet arisen arise; 3. single-mindedly and diligently striving to bring about wholesome dharmas that have not yet arisen; 4. single-mindedly and diligently striving to increase wholesome dharmas that have already arisen.
