此通言如意者，四念處中實智慧，四正勤中正精進。精進智慧增多、定力小弱，得四種定攝心故，智、定力等，所願皆得，故名如意足。智、定力等，能斷結使，故云斷行成就也。

These are collectively termed 'psychic power' because true wisdom is within the four bases of mindfulness and correct vigor is within the four correct efforts; vigor and wisdom having increased, while the power of samādhi was slightly weak, one gathers the mind through attaining the four kinds of samādhi. Therefore, wisdom and samādhi become equal in power, and whatever is wished for is obtained; hence they are named 'bases of psychic power'. Since the powers of wisdom and samādhi are equal, they are able to sever defilements and latencies, which is why it is said, 'fulfilling the activities of abandonment.'
