是八通名正道者，正以不邪為義。今此八法不依偏邪而行，皆名為正，能通至涅槃，故名為道。

These eight are collectively called the 'noble path', where 'right' means not wrong. Now, these eight dharmas are practiced without reliance on deviation or bias; they are all termed 'right', and because they can lead to nirvāṇa, they are called the 'path'.
