三、識。從行生垢心初身因，如犢子識母自相識，故名識。即是父母交會初，欲託胎時之名。

Third, consciousness: from formations arises the defiled mind that is the cause of the initial body. Just as a calf recognizes its mother through innate recognition, it is called consciousness. That is, it is the name for the very beginning when father and mother unite and one is about to lodge in the womb.
