Twelfth, aging and death: from birth, the maturation and decay of the body of the five skandhas is aging and death. With aging and death, there arise sorrow, lamentation, weeping, and various distresses and sufferings, with numerous torments gathered together. If one correctly contemplates the pure true reality of all dharmas, then ignorance is exhausted. Because ignorance is exhausted, volitional formations are exhausted, up to the exhaustion of the gathering of all sufferings. If one can correctly contemplate the twelve links of dependent origination across the three time periods in this way, one gives rise to genuine untaintedness and becomes a pratyekabuddha.
