The delusions abandoned by seeing the truths in the formless realm are twenty-eight anuśayas: nine anuśayas under the truth of suffering; six anuśayas under the truth of origination; six anuśayas under the truth of cessation; seven anuśayas under the truth of the path. The inclusions and exclusions are all distinguished as in the form realm; therefore, under the four categories of the formless realm, there are twenty-eight anuśayas in total. Combined, under the four truths across the three realms there are eighty-eight anuśayas, all of which are delusions capable of obstructing the seeing of the truths, abandoned by the srotāpanna on the path of seeing. Differentiating the characteristics of the anuśayas has been briefly explained in full in the preceding chapter on the ten anuśayas.
