2.43

Third, the pure liberation realized with the body. 'Pure' is called pure because its object is pure. The practitioner removes the external marks of impurity and, solely within concentration, refines the radiance of the eight colors so that they are pure, bright, and immaculate, resembling the color of marvelous jewels; hence it is called taking the pure as object. 'Realized with the body' means that without a mind of attachment or clinging, one experiences the bliss that pervades the whole body within the third dhyāna; hence it is called realized with the body.
