答：「今不以麁妙分能所，亦不以名體分之，蓋以十妙法相該博，學者難入，此文撮要徑顯彼意，乃以略顯廣、以易通難，義立能通所通，數至十者，蓋從十妙而立，雖立門對妙互有多少，而不虧本數也。此且總明，待至釋文更為點示。」

Answer: "Now we do not divide the active and passive based on crude versus subtle, nor do we divide them based on name versus essence. Rather, because the dharmas and characteristics of the ten subtleties are comprehensive and vast, scholars find them difficult to enter. This text gathers the essentials to directly reveal their intent, thereby using the brief to reveal the broad and using the easy to penetrate the difficult; hence we conceptually establish the active opener and what is opened. The number reaches ten because it is established following the ten subtleties; although the gates established and the subtleties to which they correspond may vary in number, they do not diminish the original count. This is a general clarification for now; when we come to explaining the text, it will be further pointed out."
