Third, from "the opening title" onward, clarifying that grasping the intention tallies with the text and the general and specific are without difference. Although these ten gates are after the trace gate, they still follow the example of the origin gate, and further take the explanation of the name as an example for the remaining four chapters. Thus, one knows that the five meanings explaining the title are fully complete; hence it says 'since it is so'. Since this is the overall name of the entire work, it is inevitably established by surveying the specific marks of the three sections and various chapters; having grasped the general intention, one is made to tally this general with those specific texts, hence it says 'it can be known'. If one wishes to analyze the sentences and phrases of the entire work, one must in every case know in advance the meaning of the absolute [subtlety], so that none fail to enter the mind and accomplish contemplative practice. If one is deluded about this purport when analyzing those specific texts, how could one reveal the wondrous?
