初、順諭。諸佛三千即現像之理，眾生三千即生像之性，若不然者，不能即感即應，非任運化也。

First, the direct analogy. The three thousand of the Buddhas is precisely the principle that manifests images; the three thousand of sentient beings is precisely the nature that gives rise to images. Were it not so, resonance and response could not be immediate, nor would transformation be effortless.
