First, their mutual accomplishment. Although the nature is complete, its entire essence is in delusion; it must rely on subtle wisdom to understand and awaken the perfect cultivation. Therefore it says, "Although the nature is originally so, it relies on wisdom to give rise to cultivation." Through this wisdom and practice one can thoroughly illuminate the virtues of nature. Furthermore, this wisdom and practice arise from the entire essence of the virtues of nature. If it were not arisen from nature, it could not illuminate nature; if it did not thoroughly illuminate, there would be no way for nature to be revealed. Therefore it says, "Through cultivation one illuminates nature; through nature one gives rise to cultivation." These two lines precisely distinguish the mark of their mutual accomplishment.
