答：極遲百劫，極疾九十一劫。故弗沙佛觀見釋迦弟子根熟，宜在前度，於寶窟中放光遠照。菩薩尋光至弗沙所，七日七夜一心觀佛，目不暫眴，苦行讚歎，超彌勒前九劫獲證。

Answer: At the slowest, one hundred kalpas; at the quickest, ninety-one kalpas. Therefore Puṣya Buddha, seeing that Śākyamuni's disciples had ripe faculties and should be delivered earlier, emitted light from within a jeweled cave that shone afar. The bodhisattva followed the light to Puṣya's place, and for seven days and seven nights single-mindedly contemplated the Buddha without blinking for a moment, praising him in ascetic practice, and attained realization nine kalpas ahead of Maitreya.
