Having carefully examined the single tradition of Tiantai and briefly discussed its principal purport, inquiring into its beginning and end, one should consult other texts extensively; this may be called an introductory text for studying doctrinal contemplation, and wondrous wisdom for discerning the biased and the perfect. Even if one were tongue-tied all morning, one could recite the various sūtras everywhere; even if the eight tones ceased to fan, one would constantly hear the Brahma sound. The personal realization on Vulture Peak was no empty statement; the words manifesting dhāraṇī can indeed be verified. Recently, at the request of an enthusiast, I have recorded this with an honest brush. Should anyone happen to see or hear it, may it enhance the seed-wisdom and the merits of self and others, and I deeply vow that through this, both foes and friends throughout the Dharma realm may all be benefited. Recorded by the Tiantai monk Mingkuang at Santong Monastery.
