For dredging and channeling, they consulted Yu; for taking the models, there was Xuanyuan.
Ah, the virtue of the Kan hexagram reaches the utmost of the Earthly origin!

Bright and clear is his filial governance; august and serene is the sacred ruler.
His Way crowns the present age; his achievements surpass ancient times.
Good fortune accords with auspicious omens; beauty equals the striking of the stone chimes.
Benevolence moistens flora and fauna; beneficence reaches the distant boundaries.
Of the lofty clan of the Śākya lineage, in body he relied on a gourd and coarse robes.
Not longing for enfeoffment or jade tallies, he turned his mind to the dyed garments.
Renouncing worldly conditions and worries, he retreated to the secluded valley;
His resolve rested in the pines and bamboo, his form like dried wood.
The seven factors of awakening skilfully guide; the five dhyānas are pure and solemn.
There is no place too distant to reach, no thought that is not subdued.

The Bohai Gulf is difficult to border; sentient beings swim against and with the flow.
Crying out and in peril, by tens of millions;
Flapping their gills and wagging their tails, gazing at each other in their natural state.
On the stone walls no nets are hung; left to themselves, no hooks pull them;
Singing sculls quietly glide; resounding cauldrons cease their stench of meat.
