弟子總持和南。復逮今旨欲遂前心，功德因緣豈敢違忤。謹遵宿願，即命所司發遣。發日離晨仰聽詳擇，庶解夏非遠、秋水乘流，賜答求期必當無爽，用茲歡喜以蠲悲欷。謹和南。

Disciple Zongchi bows in reverence. Having received your present decree wishing to fulfill your former intention, how could I dare go against karmic causes and conditions of merit? Respectfully honoring your long-held wish, I have immediately ordered the relevant authorities to make preparations for your departure. As for the day of departure and the morning of farewell, I reverently await your careful selection. I hope that when the end of the summer retreat is not far off and the autumn waters carry your boat, your kind response agreeing on a date will certainly not be broken, using this joy to banish grief and weeping. Respectfully, I bow in reverence.
