弟子總持和南。暄和道體勝悆。仰揆衡嶽法事久當圓滿，江陵功德復應成就，隨喜之至難用勝言。弟子今入朝覲，行次陝州，馳仰之誠與時而積。故遣使人迎候，希便進道。來月下旬唯遲祇接，路首怱促豈復委宣。謹和南。二月二十二日。

Your disciple Zongchi bows his head. In this warm and harmonious season, is your health flourishing and comfortable? I respectfully reckon that the Dharma affairs at Mount Heng have long been brought to completion, and the meritorious deeds at Jiangling should also be accomplished; the extremity of my rejoicing is difficult to express in words. Your disciple is now entering the court for an imperial audience and has halted at Shanzhou; the sincerity of my yearning accumulates with time. Therefore I dispatch an envoy to welcome and await you, hoping you will immediately proceed on the road. In the last third of next month I shall only look forward to receiving you; being in haste at the start of my journey, how could I convey everything in detail? Respectfully bowing my head. Twenty-second day of the second month.
