總持和南。霜寒道體康勝，弟子還來甫爾。未暇迎延，馳誠已深，今遣候接，異近祇覲。謹和南。九月十六日。

Zongchi pays homage. In the frosty cold, may your physical body in the Way be healthy and superior; your disciple has only just returned. Before having leisure to invite you, my sincere devotion was already deep; I am now sending someone to await and receive you, and before long I shall pay my respectful visit. Respectfully paying homage. Sixteenth day of the ninth month.
