天台沙門智越一眾啟。典籤吳景賢至，奉教為先師亡日設齋。僧眾五百一時雲集，冥途雖隔感應道通。越等不能灰滅，奄及諱晨追慕慈顏，悲哽稽首抆淚㘅餐。不勝荷戴，謹啟謝聞。謹啟。

Memorial from the Śramaṇa Zhiyue and the entire community of Mount Tiantai: The Clerk Wu Jingxian arrived, reverently bearing your command to host a feast on the anniversary of our late master's death. Five hundred members of the monastic assembly gathered at once like clouds; though separated by the unseen path, the way of sympathetic resonance penetrates between them. Zhiyue and the others have not been able to vanish into ashes; suddenly arriving at the morning of his death anniversary, we longingly recall his compassionate countenance, sobbing as we prostrate and wiping tears as we partake of the meal. Unable to bear our debt of gratitude, we reverently submit this memorial in thanksgiving. Reverently submitted.
