天台寺故智者弟子沙門智越一眾啟。使人兼通事舍人張乾威至，謹領前件物等，並皆完淨，仍即陳羅先師舍利龕前，具宣來令并唱施物。又千僧法齋，伏惟弘護殷勤，慈澤周至。香罏微妙天匠莊嚴，洪鐘和雅震集凡聖，勝旛舒斾疑懸梵宮，酥[麩-夫+少]鹽桃請同香積，法衣淨飾無著離塵，氈物豐多驚眩視聽。千僧雲集布滿山庭，爰降王人光顯林谷，奉對靈龕，必神通攝受；標擬眾聖，冀願海莊嚴。越等凡微謬當恩沐，慈潤重沓難可克勝，合眾虔虔如履氷刃，不任戴荷之至，謹啟謝聞。謹啟。仁壽二年正月六日。

Submitted by the assembly of the monk Zhiyue, disciple of the late Zhizhe of Tiantai Monastery. The envoy, Receptionist Zhang Qianwei, has arrived, and we have respectfully received the aforementioned items, all complete and clean, and immediately arranged and displayed them before the relic shrine of our late master, fully proclaiming your incoming order and announcing the offered items. Furthermore, for the Dharma feast for a thousand monks, we humbly reflect upon your earnest protection and your pervasive compassionate favors. The incense burner is wondrously fine, adorned by heavenly craftsmanship; the great bell is harmonious and elegant, shaking and gathering mortals and sages; the excellent banners spread their streamers, seeming to hang in the Brahma palace; the ghee, grain, salt, and walnuts are invited as if from Xiangji; the Dharma robes and clean adornments are unattached and free from defilement; the felt items are abundant and many, dazzling our sight and hearing. A thousand monks gathered like clouds, filling the mountain courtyard, whereupon the royal envoy descended, glorifying the forests and valleys. Facing the spiritual shrine, it must surely receive them with spiritual power; presented to the assembly of sages, we hope it will adorn the ocean of vows. We, Yue and the others, base and lowly, have undeservedly received your favor; your abundant compassionate moisture is difficult to endure, and the entire assembly is reverent and apprehensive, as if treading on ice or blades, unable to bear the utmost gratitude. We respectfully submit this letter of thanks. Respectfully submitted. The sixth day of the first month of the second year of the Renshou era (602 CE).
