天台寺沙門智越一眾啟。仲秋已冷，伏惟皇帝陛下起居萬福。越等早蒙垂覆曲荷慈恩，山眾常得安心奉國行道。伏聞輿駕巡撫，江都寺眾欣踊，不任馳戀之誠。謹遣僧使智璪奉啟以聞。謹啟。大業元年八月三十日。

The monk Zhiyue of Tiantai Monastery and the whole assembly report: Mid-autumn has already turned cold; we prostrate ourselves hoping that His Majesty the Emperor's daily life is blessed with myriad fortunes. Early on, Zhiyue and the others received your gracious shelter and specifically bore your compassionate favor, so that the mountain assembly has always been able to practice the Path peacefully in service of the state. We humbly hear that the imperial chariot is touring and consoling; the monastic assembly of Jiangdu leaps with joy, unable to bear our sincerity of rushing yearning. We respectfully dispatch the monastic envoy Zhizao to present this letter to inform [Your Majesty]. Respectfully submitted. The thirtieth day of the eighth month of the first year of Daye.
