吉藏啟景。上至奉旨，伏慰下情。薄熱，不審尊體何如。伏願信後寢膳勝常，誨授無乃上損。吉藏粗蒙隨眾拜覲，未即伏增戀結願珍重。今遣智照還啟。不宣謹啟。

Jizang addresses you with respect. Your letter has arrived above, and having respectfully received your instruction, my humble feelings are greatly comforted. In this slight heat, I do not know how your revered body is faring. I humbly pray that following your letter, your sleep and meals are better than usual, and that your teaching has not wearied you. I, Jizang, have coarsely been blessed to pay homage along with the assembly, but as I cannot do so immediately, my longing and attachment only increase; I pray you take precious care. I now send Zhizhao to return with this letter. Incomplete in words, reverently addressed.
