問：仁執《金錍》「須善一家宗途，方可委究行門始末」之語，謂須讀《止觀》者，且妙境最邃，尚於言下開通，儻再請餘乘，豈聞說不解，而執須讀《止觀》部帙耶？

Question: You cling to the Jinbi's words, 'One must be well-versed in the lineage and doctrines of our school before one can exhaustively examine the beginning and end of the gates of practice', claiming that one must read the Zhiguan. Yet, the wonderful object is the most profound, and one still opens up and comprehends it upon hearing words; if one further inquires about the remaining vehicles, would one fail to understand upon hearing them explained, so that you insist that one must read through the volumes of the Zhiguan?
