況上人竊他正義因為己解，前後不少。只如予將修二性一銷於知心無心之文，答疑書難云：若正釋十法中，以金為性、光明為修，則容分對。且玄義譬喻附文當體，何嘗論修二性一等。

Moreover, instances where you stole another's correct meaning to take as your own understanding are not few, early or late. For example, when I explained the passage 'knowing the mind is without mind' in terms of 'two cultivated and one of the nature', your *Letter Answering Doubts* objected: 'If within the principal explanation of the ten dharmas gold is taken as the nature and radiance as cultivation, then matching them might be allowed. Yet the metaphors and appended texts of the *Xuanyi* are intrinsic essence; when have they ever discussed two cultivated and one of the nature, and so forth?'
