今家觀法，何處令直緣真理而修？何文令緣佛所證圓融三法而修觀耶？以上人自昔全不知依境修觀之意，但以己解約酌而言。及遭詰難，則望難未到處臨時轉立。

In the contemplation methods of our school, where does it instruct one to cultivate by directly taking true principle as the cognitive condition? What text instructs one to cultivate contemplation by taking the perfectly fused threefold dharmas realized by the Buddha as the cognitive condition? Because you have from the past completely failed to understand the intent of cultivating contemplation in reliance on objects, you merely spoke conjecturally based on your own understanding. When confronted with interrogation, you then shifted and established positions on the spot to evade wherever the objection had not yet reached.
