予今輒定上人當時之意，豈非云此玄十種三法修之亦能入理證果，但未如止觀觀法周細，故云依彼修之方為盡善。只云此未盡善，非全不可修也。

Now, if I may assess what you meant at that time, were you not saying that cultivating the ten kinds of threefold dharmas of this *Xuanyi* can also enter the principle and realize the fruit, but is not as thorough and detailed as the contemplation method of the *Zhiguan*, and so cultivating according to that is only then entirely good? You were only saying that this is not yet entirely good, not that it is entirely impossible to cultivate.
