天地之大，仁聖是則，巍巍居尊，
生生為德。順考古道，祇受民時，
兆人允殖，萬物由儀。易有中孚，
書稱咸若，恩信所加，飛潛自樂。
末俗浸巧，暴殄滋多，麟鳳去棷，
鯨鯢駭波。惟天聰明，聿求元聖，
邦家大同，幅員底靖。皇哉有宋，
疊雉重明，澤均敦葦，惠及跂行。
乃眷南服，鮮食為盛，繕治舊防，
昭蘇物命。爰有開士，化茲一方，
就其寶剎，疎厥金塘。壁立大堤，
練澄百丈，灔灔風光，昭昭景象。
日募檀施，歲舉懺儀，魚鳥聱取，
刷蕩瀾漪。憯怛忠利，國教胥洎，
𪫟惕隱惻，人端斯至。自古及今，
惟善可欽，慚非吉頌，聊代虞箴。

Great are heaven and earth; the benevolent sage takes them as model.
Lofty and eminent, residing in the highest,
Bringing forth life is his virtue.
Accompanying the ancient way,
He reverently follows the people’s seasons;
Millions of people truly flourish,
And the myriad things follow propriety.
The Changes speaks of Inner Sincerity (Zhongfu);
The Documents states that all are accorded with.
Where kindness and trust are bestowed,
Those that fly and swim rejoice of themselves.
Degenerate customs gradually grew artful;
Violent waste increasingly multiplied.
Qilin and phoenix departed the forest;
Whales were terrified in the waves.
Heaven is discerning and bright;
Thereupon it sought the primal sage.
State and family in great harmony,
The entire realm brought to peace.
August is the Song,
Double pheasants, redoubled illumination!
Grace extends equally to thick rushes;
Benevolence reaches crawling insects.
Turning regard to the southern climes,
Where fresh animal food was most prevalent,
They repaired the ancient embankments,
Restoring and enlivening the lives of creatures.
Here was a Bodhisattva-scholar,
Who transformed this whole region:
Approaching his precious monastery,
He cleared its golden pond.
The great dyke rises like a cliff;
White silk clarifies a hundred fathoms.
Glistening is the breeze and light;
Radiant is the scenery.
Daily soliciting the gifts of donors,
Annually conducting the repentance ritual,
Birds and fish are freed from capture,
Washed clean in the flowing ripples.
Compassionate, loyal, and beneficial,
The state's teaching reached far;
Fearful, sympathetic, and sorrowful,
Humanity's beginnings arrived here.
From antiquity down to the present,
Only goodness is venerable.
Ashamed that this is not an auspicious praise,
It may briefly substitute for the forester's warning.
