三年庚子　是歲大旱，師與天竺懺主祈雨有感。《行業記》云：歲大旱，師與遵式同修光明懺祈雨，約三日不降，當然一手以供佛。佛事未竟，雨已大浹。慈雲《行業記》云：咸平三年，四明大旱，師入懺摩祈雨，約三日不雨，當自焚。如期果應。太守蘇為異之，題石紀其事。

Third year, gengzi. In this year there was a great drought; the Master and the Repentance Master of Tianzhu prayed for rain and received an efficacious response. The Record of Conduct says: 'In a year of great drought, the Master and Zunshi jointly practiced the Brightness Repentance to pray for rain, agreeing that if it did not rain within three days, they would burn an arm as an offering to the Buddha. Before the Buddhist service was finished, soaking rain had already fallen heavily.' Ciyun's Record of Conduct says: 'In the third year of Xianping, there was a great drought in Siming; the Master entered the repentance ritual to pray for rain, agreeing that if it did not rain within three days, he would burn himself. Exactly as pledged, an answer was granted. The prefect Su Wei marvelled at this and inscribed a stone to record the event.'
