又問曰：據義徵文分明若是，其如修者何以措心？既歷正歷依，若大若小境相委曲一一須觀。儻照真如，必須絕念空有俱泯境觀雙消。且觀相則違真、照理則乖事，既難並慮，必也無歸。願示用心，永為修法。

Question: The citation of scriptural passages based on the doctrine is clear like this; but how is the practitioner to settle the mind? Having to pass through the primary and secondary retributions, whether great or small, the detailed forms of each objective realm must be contemplated one by one. If one illuminates true-suchness, one must cut off thought: emptiness and existence are both extinguished, and realm and contemplation are both dissolved. Now, contemplating marks conflicts with the true, and illuminating the principle contradicts phenomena; since it is difficult to hold both thoughts together, one will inevitably have no refuge. We pray you show us how to apply the mind, to serve forever as a method of cultivation.
