二問：一切眾生本來同一法性，法性本來清淨，何因緣故忽迷？只如初迷之時，為一時迷？為前後迷？若云一時迷者，悟時亦應一時開悟證於佛果，何故現有眾生未悟耶？若前後者，既同一法性，以何因緣而致前後迷耶？

Second question: All sentient beings originally share the same dharmatā, and dharmatā is originally pure. By what causes and conditions do they suddenly become deluded? Just as at the time of initial delusion, is it delusion at the same time, or delusion with priority and posteriority? If you say it is delusion at the same time, at the time of enlightenment they should also simultaneously awaken and realize buddhahood; why then are there currently sentient beings who are not enlightened? If there is priority and posteriority, since they share the same dharmatā, by what causes and conditions does delusion occur with priority and posteriority?
