七問：世間有情變為無情，如石夫人地蟾石蠏等；無情變為有情，如麰麥腐草化為飛蝶螢火等。此等生類是何因緣而爾遷變耶？

Seventh question: In the world, sentient beings transform into insentient things, such as the Stone Lady, earth-toads, stone crabs, and the like; insentient things transform into sentient beings, such as barley or rotting grass metamorphosing into flying butterflies, fireflies, and the like. By what causes and conditions do these classes of beings undergo such mutations?
