Second question: In receiving your second answer, it was stated that sentient beings have no precedence in delusion, but have precedence in awakening—just as at night many people sleep together, and though their time of sleeping is the same, this does not prevent them from waking earlier or later. If they gradually awaken and become buddhas like this, there should be a time when the realm of sentient beings is completely exhausted. If that is so, why do the sūtras and treatises all say that sentient beings are boundless?
