5.114

吾遺書付浮石崇矩。吾傳教觀四十餘年，既云樂在其中，不覺老之將至。近以綿痼，百骸俱痛，唯冥妙空，達生死相，相亦非相，去來本常。此乃一心三觀之要，吾在為訓物之柄，吾逝為見佛之基。汝早聞思，夙預傳唱，當須勤勵以益諸後，俾祖燈廣曜佛種不斷。若依此者，真吾徒也。捨此以往，復何言哉。臨行書此，不及委悉，深宜體察。不具。

My testamentary letter is delivered to Chongju of Fushi. I have transmitted doctrinal teaching and contemplation for over forty years; since it is said that 'joy is found therein', I did not notice that old age was coming. Recently, with lingering illness, all hundred joints ache; I only commune with the wondrous emptiness and penetrate the marks of birth and death: marks are also non-marks, and coming and going are fundamentally eternal. This is the essence of the threefold contemplation in one mind: while I am here, it is the handle for instructing beings; when I depart, it is the foundation for seeing the Buddha. You heard and reflected early on, and participated in propagating from long ago; you must be diligent to benefit those who come after, so that the ancestral lamp may shine widely and the Buddha-seed may not be severed. If you follow this, you are truly my disciple. Setting this aside, what more is there to say? Writing this upon the verge of departure, I have no time to go into details; you should deeply comprehend and examine it. Incomplete.
