5.132

吾姪持公院宰。秋來且喜無恙，修進成規。昨咸若棲託名籃，稍垂見待，仍染拙疾，更費看承。見法屬之情，感歲寒之分。今二僧再去收斂，更冀溫存。或檀越登門，亦希勸發。先人後己是大士之用心，此外善保行藏，勤於收拾，裨住持興盛、教觀流通。餘無所囑也。不宣。城隅法眷比丘（押）達永安山主。

To my nephew, Master Chi, Director of the Cloister: With the arrival of autumn, I am pleased to know that you are without illness and that your practice and advancement adhere to the standards. Recently, Xianruo found shelter at your renowned monastery; you showed him some hospitality, yet he fell ill with a clumsy ailment, which cost you even more trouble to care for. This shows the affection of Dharma-kin, and I am grateful for your loyalty in winter's cold. Now the two monks are going again to collect offerings; I further hope you will treat them warmly. If donors come to the gate, I also hope you will exhort and inspire them. Putting others first and oneself second is the mind of a great being. Beyond this, take good care of your actions and retreat, be diligent in management, so as to assist in the prosperity of the abbotship and the circulation of doctrinal teaching and contemplation. I have no other instructions. No more to state. Bhikṣu of the city wall, Dharma-relative (sign-manual). Delivered to the Mountain Master of Yong'an.
