法智與其姪書，前云二子粗著工夫，後期二利之行。於人念念不忘於道，蓋戒誓之緒餘耳，百世之師也。乾道二年四月八日蘿月曇瑩謹書。

Fazhi's letters to his nephew state earlier that 'the two boys are applying their efforts roughly,' and later hope for 'the practice of benefiting both self and others.' In every thought toward others, he did not forget the Way; this is indeed the surplus of his precepts and vows—he is truly a teacher for a hundred generations. Eighth day of the fourth month in the second year of the Qiandao era [1166], Luoyue Tanying reverently writes.
