（億）再咨。（億）頃露虔誠，願延住壽，枉柔音之垂報，仰確志之惟堅。柰以台教之復興，聿自海邦而始唱，賴香象之所負、同優曇之一開。儻取證於樂邦，孰能扶於法運？迦文念過去之說，罔趣泥洹；生公待未至之經，久停枯聚。備存昔制，希察遐衷。幸甚幸甚。

[Yang] Yi again addresses you: A while ago, I disclosed my sincere devotion, wishing that your lifespan would be prolonged; you condescended to reply with gentle words, and I look up to your firm determination. But the revival of the Tiantai teaching indeed began its proclamation from this coastal region, relying on the burden borne by the fragrant elephant, like the singular blossoming of the udumbara. If you realize the fruit in the Land of Bliss, who will be able to sustain the fortune of the Dharma? Śākyamuni, mindful of past discourses, did not hasten to nirvāṇa; Master [Dao]sheng, waiting for the unarrived sūtras, long lingered in this withered gathering. Fully preserving the ancient precedents, I hope you will consider my remote sentiments. Fortunate indeed, fortunate indeed!
