（億）啟：逖仰孤風，宏敷至教，續台巖之慧命、逗淛水之上機。縈以塵煩，間于道里，阻親軟語，莫叩靈筌，清侶遐臻，圓封辱貺。同寄書於漢上，智辯難酬；陪結友於香山，願心猶欝。欽承道眷，內積靦顏。暄序甫臨，履用增勝。不宣。

[Yang] Yi states: From afar I revere your solitary style, broadly propagating the supreme teaching, continuing the wisdom-life of the Tiantai cliffs, and responding to the superior faculties of the Zhe River. Entangled in worldly vexations and separated by distances of roads, I am prevented from drawing close to your gentle words and cannot inquire into the spiritual trap. Pure companions have arrived from afar, and I have been honored with your sealed letter. Sending letters together to Hanshang, my wisdom and eloquence are difficult to match; accompanying you in forming friendships at Mount Xiang, my aspirational heart remains constrained. Respectfully receiving your spiritual kinship, I inwardly accumulate shame. As the warm season has just arrived, may your health and affairs increase in excellence. Respectfully submitted.
