（知禮）伏審榮奉金泥、首司玉署。歡抃之極，啟處無從。伏惟慶尉，恭以翰長侍郎，積行累仁，博我多識，有佐時之道、無媚世之容，運籌堪亞於子房、遺直未饒於叔向，加以矯志崇邈、頤情典墳，收百代之闕文，選義按部；採千載之遺韻，考辭就班，挫群動於筆端、籠八極於形內，故得位隣三輔、心協重瞳，豈視草而冠華林、必和羹而坐黃閣。（智禮）慚非俊列，曲受恩知，赤城妙宗，何汩沒於當代；白蓮淨社，重煒燁於舊林。況阡陌而是遙，會金蘭而且阻。西望門館，山情不任煌灼激切之至。

[Zhi]li prostratingly learns that you have gloriously received the golden mud [edict] and head the Jade Bureau. In the utmost joy, I know not how to contain myself. Prostratingly offering congratulations: Respectfully considering that you, Chancellor and Vice Minister, have accumulated virtuous deeds and heaped up benevolence, broadening me with rich learning, possessing the way to assist the times without any face of fawning on the world; your strategizing is fit to rival Zifang, and your uprightness would not yield to Shuxiang. In addition, you elevate your resolve to the lofty and sublime, and nourish your emotions on canonical texts, gathering the lost writings of a hundred generations and selecting their purports by category; collecting the leftover rhymes of a thousand years and examining their phrasing in orderly ranks. You subdue all stirrings at the tip of your brush and encompass the eight extremities within physical form; thus your position is close to the Three Auxiliaries and your mind accords with the imperial gaze. How could you merely draft edicts and head the Hualin [Academy]? You will certainly mix the soup of state and sit in the Yellow Pavilion. Zhili is ashamed not to be among the eminent, yet has subtly received your gracious recognition. How could the wondrous school of Chicheng be submerged in the present age? The Pure Society of the White Lotus shines brightly once more in the ancient grove. Furthermore, field paths separate us by far, and the union of golden orchids is obstructed. Looking west toward your gate, my mountain sentiments cannot bear the utmost blaze and intensity.
