（遵勗）啟：跡嬰官次，耳熟道風，逖懷鄞水之名城、夙闡台峯之密教，半滿二字，義奧賾以惟精；晝夜六時，道勤行而匪懈。仰梵筵之高啟、藹方裓之駢趨，煥然精祠，允為寶所，屢通誠於音驛，向阻侍於巾盂。近遇誕彌之辰，輒祈智者之號，欽綸恩之申錫，省塵瀆以無從。而乃宗教荐興，纂上乘而彌劭；法齡安住，延內護以增輝。幸惟觀道之慈，俯徇締緣之懇，春旗肇候，清履善綏，企頌之私，硎削奚既。其勅牒一道，輒於遞中附上。謹奉狀，起居陳賀，兼偵法候。

[Li] Zunxu addresses [you]: My trace is bound to the ranks of officialdom, yet my ears are well versed in your virtuous way. From afar I cherish the famed city on the Yin River, where you have long propagated the esoteric teachings of the Tiantai peaks. In the two words 'half' and 'full', the meanings are profound and subtle, attained with utter refinement; throughout the six periods of the day and night, you diligently practice the Way without remiss. I admire the lofty opening of the Sanskrit banquet and the dense gathering of square-robed monks flocking together. Resplendent is your refined sanctuary, truly a place of treasure. Repeatedly I conveyed my sincerity through post-messengers, though I have long been hindered from personally attending upon your towel and basin. Recently, encountering the anniversary of [the imperial] birth, I straightaway prayed for a master's title akin to Zhizhe's. Revering the imperial favor thereby bestowed, I reflect that my worldly solicitations were without proper grounds. Yet the ancestral doctrine rises anew, continuing the supreme vehicle with ever greater distinction; may your Dharma-age abide in peace, prolonging inner protection to enhance its brilliance. Fortunate am I to rely on the compassion of your contemplative Way, which deigned to accede to my sincere wish to forge this affinity. As the spring banners initiate the season, may your pure footsteps be well comforted. As for my personal longing and praise, how could whetstone and brush ever exhaust them? One imperial patent is hereby appended to the courier post. Respectfully presenting this letter, I convey greetings and congratulations, and inquire after your Dharma-wellbeing.
