昔法智大師作此書，求置後園地段，作今院宇建立基趾。其言懇至，其書勤劬，慕在興隆，廣茲形勝。（道因）收藏有歲，惜其遺蹤，恐未及見聞，刻之堅石。時崇寧元年壬午潤六月望日比丘（道因）立。

In the past, Great Master Fazhi wrote this letter to request the acquisition of the rear garden land to establish the foundation for the present cloister buildings. His words were earnest and his writing diligent, aspiring toward flourishing and expanding this superb site. I, [Daoyin], have kept it in my collection for years; lamenting that his surviving traces might not be seen or heard of in time, I have carved it on hard stone. Erected on the full moon of the leap sixth month in the renwu year, the first year of the Chongning era (1102 CE), by the Bhikṣu [Daoyin].
