7.58

江上傷懷久，斜陽遍越陵，
君為出世士，我亦謝時僧。
貝葉同年講，蓮華異日陞，
法門傳弟子，何啻百千燈。

On the river I have grieved for long, / The slanting sun covers the hills of Yue.
You were a gentleman who transcended the world; / I too am a monk retired from the times.
Pattra leaves we expounded in the same year; / On the lotus flower [of the Pure Land] you will ascend on a different day.
The Dharma gate is transmitted to your disciples; / How could they be merely a hundred thousand lamps?
