堂堂我師，法苑英才，子生皇宋，
獨步天台，荊溪往沒，鄮嶺重來。
教門久塞，我師洞開，義雷迅發，
迷蟄春迴。繪儀罔及，奮藻難裁，
煥然睟容，孰不欽哉。

Grand and imposing was our Master, / An eminent talent in the Dharma garden. / Born in the august Song, / He walked alone in Tiantai. / When Jingxi passed away, / He returned again to the hills of Mao.
The doctrinal gate had long been obstructed; / Our Master opened it wide. / Thunder of doctrinal meaning burst forth swiftly; / Hibernating creatures returned to spring. / A painted likeness cannot capture him; / Flourishing rhetoric can hardly depict him. / Resplendent with serene countenance, / Who would not revere him?
