Ultimate identity is, tenth, the stage of the Buddha. When the conditions of capacity are ripe, by means of wisdom corresponding in a single thought, they sever the remaining residual habit-energies, sit beneath the seven-jeweled bodhi tree with heavenly garments as their seat, and manifest an inferior-yet-superior response body (inferior because it is a body born of fragmented [birth-and-death], and superior because it is like Mount Sumeru). For those of the faculties and natures of the three vehicles, they turn the wheel of the Dharma of the unproduced four truths. When conditions are exhausted, they enter extinction, both primary [afflictions] and habit-energies being eliminated, like both charcoal and ash being completely consumed when burned by the kalpa fire. This is on par with the Buddha-fruit of the Tripiṭaka teaching.
