經云：「爾時，毘舍離人即具楊枝淨水，授與觀世音菩薩。」《止觀》但云「設楊枝」等，不言授與。今依經，令行人跪授，唱云：
The sūtra says: "At that time, the people of Vaiśālī immediately provided willow branches and pure water, offering them to Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva." The Zhiguan only says "set out willow branches" and so forth, without mentioning offering them. Now, following the sūtra, have the practitioner kneel and offer them, chanting:
