請觀世音菩薩消伏毒害陀羅尼三昧儀 1.59

1.59

爾時，世尊說是神呪已，告阿難言：「若善男子、善女人、四部弟子，得聞觀世音菩薩名號，并受持、讀誦六字章句；若行曠野，迷失道徑，誦此呪故，觀世音菩薩大悲熏心，化為人像，示其道路，令得安隱。……乃至獲大善利，消伏毒害，今世、後世不吉祥事，永盡無餘，持戒精進，念定總持，皆悉足具。」

At that time, after the World-Honoured One had spoken this divine mantra, he addressed Ānanda, saying: "If good men, good women, or disciples of the four assemblies hear the name of Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva and accept, uphold, read, and recite the six-syllable sentence; if they travel in the wilderness and lose their way, because of reciting this mantra, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, his mind perfumed by great compassion, will transform into a human form, show them the road, and make them safe and secure... even attaining great wholesome benefit, eliminating and subduing poison and harm, so that inauspicious matters in this life and future lives are forever exhausted without remainder, and keeping precepts, vigorous effort, mindfulness, concentration, and dhāraṇī are all fully perfected."
