經云：「我今說過去娑羅王如來所說——熾盛光大威德陀羅尼除災難法。若有國王及諸大臣所居之處及諸國界，或被五星陵逼；羅睺、彗孛、妖星照臨所屬本命宮宿及諸星位，或臨帝座，於國、於家及分野處陵逼之時，或退或入，作諸障難者，但於清淨處置立道場，念此陀羅尼一百八遍或一千遍。若一日、二日、三日，乃至七日，依法修飾壇場，至心受持、讀誦，一切災難悉皆消滅，不能為害。」乃至云：「若有苾芻、苾芻尼、族姓男、族姓女，受持、讀誦此陀羅尼者，能成就八萬種吉祥事，能除滅八萬種不吉祥事」等。據於經文，具乎四義：一、所消三障；二、能消勝法；三、明力用；四、顯陀羅尼。

The sūtra says: 'I now expound the method for eliminating calamities of the Tejaprabhā Mahātejas Dhāraṇī spoken by the past Sālarāja Tathāgata. If there are dwellings of kings and ministers, or state territories, that are oppressed by the Five Planets; or where Rāhu, comets and broom stars, and baleful stars illuminate and approach their natal palace and lunar mansion and various stellar positions, or approach the imperial throne; when there is oppression in the state, in the family, or in the terrestrial field allocation, either retrograding or entering and causing various obstacles and calamities—merely establish a bodhimaṇḍa in a clean place, and recite this dhāraṇī one hundred and eight times or one thousand times. Whether for one day, two days, three days, up to seven days, ornamenting the altar according to the Dharma and upholding, reading, and reciting with a sincere mind, all calamities will be completely eliminated and unable to cause harm.' And further: 'If there are bhikṣus, bhikṣuṇīs, noble sons, or noble daughters who uphold, read, and recite this dhāraṇī, they can accomplish eighty thousand kinds of auspicious matters, and can eliminate eighty thousand kinds of inauspicious matters', and so forth. Relying on the sūtra text, it comprises four meanings: first, the three obstacles to be eliminated; second, the superior method capable of eliminating them; third, explaining its power and function; fourth, revealing the dhāraṇī.
